Firefighters battled a stubborn four-alarm house fire that erupted in the 30's block of Brower Drive overnight.
Crews arrived to the scene shortly before 1 a.m. where heavy fire was seen coming from the house and extending to a home next door.
Firefighters pulled an elderly man around the age of 74-years-old from the house where he was rushed to Ocean Medical Center suffering serious injuries. The man was pronounced dead several hours later.
It took firefighters a little more than an hour to bring the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
