A second prisoner escaped from a Newark hospital this morning while in police custody.
Sometime around 7 a.m. today a prisoner, identified as 34-year-old Martin Sanchez, walked out of a University hospital while receiving treatment.
According to police, Sanchez was taken into custody approximately an hour later in the area of Hinsdale Place.
The incident remains under investigation.
No additional details were immediately.
Sanchez was facing possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
