Authorities in Union County launched an investigation Thursday evening after a suspicious package was discovered inside Warinanco Park in Roselle, prompting a response from the Union County Bomb Squad.

According to preliminary reports, police were dispatched to the park just before 6:10 p.m. after receiving reports of a suspicious package.
Upon arrival, officers located a bag containing pipes, which led them to secure the area and establish a perimeter to assess the situation.

While initial evaluations indicated that the package did not pose an immediate threat, officials have not yet determined how it ended up inside the park.
The incident remains under active investigation as authorities work to uncover its origins and whether any foul play was involved.

No injuries were reported, and law enforcement has not released further details at this time.
