Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. had issued an early warning on Tuesday, advising residents to prepare for potential flooding due to the forecasted storm.

The rainfall total reached 1.95 inches, which, if it had fallen as snow, would have amounted to nearly two feet of accumulation.

The heavy downpour led to widespread street flooding, making travel hazardous and prompting officials to urge drivers to avoid flooded roadways. Emergency responders were on high alert as conditions worsened.

Firefighters were dispatched to Avenue L near Wilson Avenue, a known flood-prone area, where several motorists became trapped in their vehicles due to rising water.

Crews worked quickly to assist the stranded drivers, ensuring they reached safety. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the flooding.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and are urging residents to remain cautious, especially in areas prone to flooding.

Officials advise drivers to avoid flooded streets and seek alternate routes until water levels recede.
