Following the success of last year's recruitment fair—which led to numerous hires across the state—organizers expect this year’s event to be even larger.

Federal, state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies will be in attendance, offering aspiring officers and public service professionals a chance to explore career opportunities.

Union County Prosecutor William Daniel emphasized the importance of the event, calling it a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about serving their communities.

“Strong relationships between law enforcement and the public are essential for effective policing. This event gives potential recruits the chance to connect directly with agencies looking for dedicated individuals who want to make a difference,” Daniel stated.

Chief of Detectives Dr. Harvey Barnwell echoed this sentiment, encouraging individuals from all backgrounds to attend.

“The badge represents more than just authority—it symbolizes trust, service, and commitment. We need professionals with integrity, empathy, and a dedication to public service,” Barnwell said.

He assured that the fair is open to all, regardless of prior experience or educational background.

Kean University President Lamont O. Repollet, Ed.D., expressed pride in partnering with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office for this initiative. “Our criminal justice program prepares students for meaningful careers in law enforcement, and this event serves as a bridge to connect them with the agencies that need their skills and dedication,” he said.

Union County Chairwoman Lourdes M. Leon emphasized the fair’s importance in fostering diversity within law enforcement. “This event is not just about recruitment; it’s about ensuring that our agencies reflect the communities they serve. Whether you're beginning your career or considering a transition into public service, I encourage you to explore the opportunities available,” she said.

New Jersey lawmakers, including Senate President Nick Scutari and Senators Joseph Cryan and Jon Bramnick, also voiced their support.

They stressed the need for dedicated individuals in law enforcement and encouraged interested applicants to take advantage of this hiring event.

In addition to police recruitment, the fair will feature career opportunities for those interested in roles such as assistant prosecutors, forensic lab technicians, administrators, and clerks.
