Authorities are investigating the death of a 20-year-old Paterson man whose body was discovered at Garrett Mountain Reservation on February 28, 2025, according to information released by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic County Sheriff Thomas Adamo.
At approximately 12:50 p.m., officers from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unresponsive male at the reservation.
Upon arrival, they found the body of Martin Mendoza. 
The Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of death.
Officials stated that there are no suspects being sought at this time and that there is no threat to the public.
