Three Sought for Questioning in Newark Home Invasion, Carjacking

Law enforcement officials in Newark are actively investigating a violent home invasion and carjacking that took place earlier this month, urging the public to assist in locating three individuals wanted for questioning in connection with the case.

According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr., authorities are seeking Hendrika Jones, 31, of Newark, Steven Howard, 28, and Corey Wilson, 29, both of Jersey City. 

Their possible involvement in the February 11, 2025, incident remains under investigation as police work to piece together the events leading up to and following the crime.  

The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on the 400 block of Irvine Turner Boulevard when the victim was attacked by two suspects dressed in black clothing and ski masks as he attempted to leave his home. 

The assailants allegedly searched his pockets, stole his car keys, and fled the scene in his vehicle, a 2018 grey Chevrolet Malibu.  

Following an extensive search, police recovered the stolen vehicle five days later, on February 16, in Jersey City.

 However, authorities are still working to determine the suspects’ whereabouts and involvement.  

Descriptions of the Three Individuals Wanted for Questioning:

- Steven Howard is described as a Black male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

- Corey Wilson is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

- Hendrika Jones is a Black female, 5 feet tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about their locations to come forward, as investigators continue working to bring those responsible to justice.
