According to information released by Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Collingswood Police Chief Kevin Carey, 27-year-old Tahaa Elmogahzy has been charged with first-degree attempted murder for allegedly attacking a 30-year-old man from Mount Laurel.

The incident occurred on the night of February 22, 2025, at approximately 9:09 p.m., when officers from the Collingswood Police Department were dispatched to the Raccoon Taproom, located at 1 Powell Lane, following a report of a disorderly person.

Upon arrival, police discovered that a patron had been stabbed in what authorities described as an unprovoked assault.

The suspect had fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

The victim was rushed to Cooper University Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

On Monday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division took Elmogahzy into custody in Collingswood.
