Pleasantville Man Pleads Guilty to Assaulting His Girlfriend

Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Friday, February 21, Kevin Turkvan, 32, of Pleasantville, pleaded guilty before the Honorable Pamela D'Arcy, J.S.C., to one count of second-degree Aggravated Assault in exchange for a recommended five-year New Jersey State Prison sentence, subject to the No Early Release Act.

The Defendant’s request to be released pending sentencing was denied, ACPO officials stated. 

According to Atlantic County officials, on April 9, 2024, officers of the Brigantine Police Department responded to a report of a domestic violence incident where the victim was being taken to the hospital.

Pursuant to an investigation, it was determined that the defendant had assaulted the victim, his girlfriend, days prior on April 5, 2024, ACPO authorities said. 

Specifically, ACPO officials say, the defendant struck the victim in her head with a blunt object, causing injuries including a fractured skull.

Atlantic County officials said the defendant was subsequently arrested, charged, and detained at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on May 14, 2025, according to Atlantic County authorities.
