According to police, officers responded to a reported burglary at 10 Bloomfield Avenue at approximately 12:33 a.m.

The caller informed dispatch that two male suspects had smashed the front glass door of the establishment before grabbing the register and fleeing the scene.

Both suspects were described as wearing dark clothing with their faces partially covered, making identification difficult.

After taking the cash register, the duo was seen fleeing east on Bloomfield Avenue.

However, police later determined that the register contained only loose change, as it had been emptied prior to the break-in.

Belleville police are actively investigating the incident and are reviewing surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the suspects.
