Authorities are actively investigating a violent attack that left a woman seriously injured after being shot in the face with a crossbow inside a business on Route 46 East.
According to officials, the incident occurred on Monday, February 17, at approximately 5:55 p.m. when the Saddle Brook Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a severely injured woman at her workplace.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from a crossbow wound, while the suspect had already fled the scene.
Emergency responders quickly transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she is receiving treatment for serious injuries.
Medical professionals have since listed her in stable condition.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Saddle Brook Police Department, launched an investigation into the attempted homicide.
The Bergen County Sheriff's Office is also assisting in the case.
The investigation is being led by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Chief John Zotollo of the Saddle Brook Police Department. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
