UPDATE: Several Displaced After Fast-Moving Fire Damages Belleville Home

A fast-moving fire tore through a Belleville home Saturday morning, leaving seven people from three families displaced, according to the American Red Cross, which is providing emergency assistance.

Firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 70s block of Baldwin Place around 10:35 a.m. after receiving reports of a fire. 

Upon arrival, crews found flames coming from the building, with the occupants already safely outside.

Mutual aid was requested to assist with station coverage while Belleville firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. 

Crews stretched multiple hose lines and were able to bring the fire under control within an hour.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. 

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced families with temporary housing, food, clothing, and other immediate needs.
