A Somerset County woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a bank robbery in Princeton, where she allegedly stole more than $60,000 while threatening employees with what appeared to be a handgun, according to information released by the U.S. Department of Justice. Ciara Brascom, 39, of Skillman, was charged by complaint with one count of bank robbery.

She made her initial appearance on February 11, 2025, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Tonianne J. Bongiovanni in Trenton federal court.

According to court documents and statements made in court, the incident took place on July 28, 2024, when Brascom entered a Princeton bank and demanded money from a teller.

While making her demands, she displayed what looked like a black handgun and warned that she would use it if the bank’s alarm was triggered.

After obtaining approximately $60,500, she fled the scene.

If convicted, Brascom faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
