Paterson police are searching for a suspect involved in an attempted armed carjacking that took place late Monday night in a local neighborhood.
According to authorities, officers responded to 20th Avenue and Vreeland Avenue shortly before 10:40 p.m. after receiving reports of an attempted car theft at gunpoint.
The victim told police that a Black male dressed in all black approached them and attempted to steal their vehicle while implying he had a weapon.
Investigators believe another individual accompanied the suspect, though their description was not immediately available.
Both suspects fled the scene eastbound on 36th Street, and no physical injuries were reported.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to come forward.
