Authorities in Essex County have apprehended three individuals in connection with a violent home invasion that took place in West Caldwell on January 28, 2025.
Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II, alongside West Caldwell Police Chief Dennis A. Capriglione, Jr., North Brunswick Police Chief Joe Battaglia, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Ricky Patel, and Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, announced the arrests following a coordinated investigation.
The suspects—Joel Llanes, 32; Israel Ruiz, 30; and Louis Ramirez, 25, all from North Brunswick—have been charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree home invasion, and first-degree kidnapping.
Additionally, they face multiple counts of weapons offenses and conspiracy-related charges.
Authorities emphasize that the charges are accusations at this stage, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
