Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on November 16, 2024, the Atlantic City Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of shots fired.Upon arrival, responding officers located two male victims sustaining gunshot wounds, officials stated.
According to ACPO officials, preliminary investigation revealed a group of individuals were standing on Atlantic Avenue around the Boost Mobile store when multiple rounds were fired in their direction.
Both victims were transported to the Atlantic City Medical Center, Atlantic City Police said.
Atlantic County authorities stated that on December 14, 2024, one of the victims, Jaiden Perez, 19, of Atlantic City, succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary autopsy findings revealed Perez’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to his upper torso, County officials say.
