Passaic authorities are investigating a pedestrian accident that left an individual seriously injured on Wednesday night. The incident occurred at the intersection of Broadway and Liberty Street.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of a person lying in the roadway.
Upon arrival, police found an unidentified pedestrian who was unconscious but breathing after being struck by a vehicle.
According to initial reports, the impact of the collision caused the victim to be thrown a short distance before landing on the ground.
The injured pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is currently reported to be in serious condition.
