Paterson police established a crime scene early Wednesday morning after a shots-fired incident disrupted a neighborhood.According to officials, a ShotSpotter device activated at approximately 2:47 a.m., alerting authorities to over 20 rounds of gunfire in the area of 218 Park Avenue.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered approximately two dozen shell casings scattered throughout the area.
A thorough search of the neighborhood revealed no reported injuries.
Authorities have requested that regional hospitals remain alert for any potential gunshot victims who may seek emergency care.
As of 4:30 a.m., no injuries have been reported, and the suspect remains at large. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
Police continue to appeal to the public for information that may assist in resolving this case.
