Investigation Underway Following Overturned Tractor-Trailer in Franklin Township

Authorities are investigating a motor vehicle accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer that occurred early this afternoon in Franklin Township, according to a statement released by the Franklin Township Police Department.LegalThe incident took place at approximately 1:31 p.m. on Easton Avenue near John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

Emergency responders, including police, firefighters, Hazmat teams, and EMS personnel, were dispatched to the scene after a 9-1-1 call reported the crash.

The vehicle involved, a 2000 Volvo tractor-trailer, overturned while making a left turn from John F. Kennedy Boulevard onto Easton Avenue.

The truck was carrying various fragrances and aromatherapy materials, which Hazmat officials assessed and confirmed to be non-hazardous.

The driver declined additional medical treatment at the scene.

The Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau is leading the investigation into the cause of the accident.
