Authorities in Newark are actively searching for a suspect involved in a robbery that took place on the evening of Saturday, December 7, according to Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, located at 1 International Way.
A male suspect approached an employee inside the hotel’s valet booth and demanded money.
When the employee informed him there was no cash available, the suspect grabbed a set of keys to a business-owned 2020 red Ford pickup truck and fled the scene, heading south on Routes 1 and 9.
Police have described the suspect as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a gray sweatsuit and a full black face mask at the time of the robbery.
Director Miranda is urging the public to come forward with any information regarding the suspect’s identity.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing their efforts to locate the suspect and recover the stolen vehicle.
