Newark and the greater North Jersey area are experiencing unusually warm temperatures this Sunday morning, with the mercury reaching a comfortable 47 degrees.For those heading out to attend Sunday worship services, carrying an umbrella is advisable as rainy conditions exist throughout the day.
The National Weather Service forecasts a day filled with drizzle or light rain early in the morning, transitioning to more consistent showers between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The region will also face areas of dense fog before the afternoon.
Despite the gloomy weather, temperatures are expected to climb to a high near 58 degrees, with a calm wind shifting south at 5 to 9 mph.
The chance of precipitation throughout the day remains high at 70%.
Sunday night will continue the wet trend, with showers intensifying after 10 p.m. Rainfall could be heavy at times, but the temperature will remain steady at around 55 degrees.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for a damp and foggy end to the weekend.
