A set of carjackings that happened in the city overnight has police investigating.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m., police responded to a carjacking report that occurred in the 300 block of Eastern Parkway in the city's West Ward where the victim reported that two black males (who were armed with weapons) took a blue 2005 Nissan Altima. The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "N32-XEG".
About two hours later in the 80's block of Balwin Ave. in the city's South Ward, an armed male suspect exited a blue vehicle described as a Nissan Altima and reportedly ordered a person from their vehicle at gunpoint.
The vehicle taken was a blue 2004 4-door Lexus ES 330.
Authorities believe that the carjackings are connected.
There were no injuries reported in either incident.
