Authorities in Newark request the public’s help in identifying two female suspects who robbed a victim and fled in a vehicle on December 15.Newark Public Safety Director Emmanuel Miranda Sr. stated that the robbery occurred at approximately 3 p.m. as the victim was walking on the 800 block of South 17th Street.
According to Newark officials, two female suspects exited a 2018 Honda Accord sedan bearing New Jersey license plate W98KGH and approached the victim from behind. They snatched her pocketbook containing personal belongings, including a debit card the suspects used later to spend $200.
They fled in the vehicle, driven by a third suspect, and police found it on December 18, Newark police say.
Newark authorities stated that the first suspect, described as African-American, is 5’6” with a medium build and short hair in a bun. She wore a grey sweatsuit, a hooded jacket, and black and red sneakers.
The second suspect, also described as African-American, is 5’6” with a medium build and braids down to her waist, according to Newark officials. She wore a black sweatshirt, pants, a ski mask, a green vest, and black and white sneakers.Director Miranda Sr. urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
