In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Meet the Need (MTN) brought holiday cheer to students at John F. Kennedy School for Special Needs in Newark, NJ, on Tuesday.

The visit, part of MTN’s RJ’s Toy Chest project, transformed the school cafeteria into a festive wonderland of music, laughter, and celebration.

As Santa and his elves arrived, the room buzzed with excitement.

Over the course of the afternoon, 147 students enjoyed a holiday party complete with personalized gifts, festive stockings, and interactive entertainment. Santa himself read *The Night Before Christmas*, and each child received a gift and a photo opportunity with the jolly figure.

MTN elves distributed stockings filled with candy canes, pop-it toys, and bubble cameras, ensuring every student left with something special.

The celebration didn’t stop there. Courtney Benjamin, DJ for the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty, energized the crowd with lively music, turning the event into a spirited holiday dance party.

The students’ smiles and laughter captured the true essence of the season.

MTN’s work through RJ’s Toy Chest is deeply personal. The initiative honors the memory of RJ Anderson, the late son of MTN founders Reggie and Yvette Anderson.

RJ’s life was tragically cut short in 2014 due to complications from severe preeclampsia at birth.

Through this program, his legacy lives on, bringing joy to children across New Jersey. This year alone, RJ’s Toy Chest will deliver toys to 2,000 children in need.

“We are humbled by the opportunity to honor RJ’s memory in such a meaningful way,” said Reggie Anderson. “The joy and smiles on these children’s faces remind us of the true meaning of the holiday season.”

MTN’s commitment to spreading kindness and hope continues to resonate throughout the community, ensuring that RJ’s spirit touches lives far beyond what words can express.
