North Jersey residents are starting the second half of the weekend with below-freezing temperatures but dry conditions for now.However, a wintry mix is on the horizon. Rain is expected to arrive later tonight, and snow could cause winter weather advisories in the region.
According to the National Weather Service, Sunday’s forecast includes increasing clouds throughout the day, with a high near 39 degrees.
Wind chill values between 20 and 30 will make it feel colder, and a northeast wind around 6 mph will accompany it.
As night falls, rain is expected to begin after 1 a.m., with temperatures hovering around 36 degrees. The incoming weather pattern could bring a wintry mix to parts of North Jersey, creating the possibility of icy conditions.
