Authorities are investigating a shooting in Newark's South Ward early Sunday morning after a ShotSpotter device detected gunfire in the area.
The incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. near Tillinghast Street and Clinton Place.
Responding officers discovered evidence of a shooting, including ballistic shell casings.After canvassing the neighborhood, police found no victims, and the shooter reportedly fled the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Newark Police Department.
