A jury has found Alexander Masariego-Flores, 45, formerly of Morristown guilty of multiple offenses related to explicit contact with a minor, according to Morristown Police Chief Darnell Richardson.
The incidents occurred on multiple occasions between February and September 2023.
The jury delivered its verdict on December 6, 2024, following a three-day trial.
Morris County officials said Masariego-Flores was convicted of three counts of first-degree Aggravated Explicit Contact, two counts of second-degree Explicit Contact, and two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
He was acquitted of one count of first-degree Aggravated Explicit Contact.
The trial was presided over by the Honorable Claudia R. Jones, J.S.C., who has scheduled sentencing for February 21, 2025.
Masariego-Flores will remain in custody until sentencing.
Under the Jessica Lunsford Act, the convictions for Aggravated Explicit Contact carry a mandatory minimum of 25 years without the possibility of parole.
Additionally, the convictions for Explicit Contact are subject to the No Early Release Act, further ensuring significant sentencing consequences.
Authorities emphasized the seriousness of these crimes and reiterated their commitment to seeking justice for the victims.
