Good morning, New Jersey!
Tuesday begins with a foggy and a damp start. For my friends and family in Newark, the temperature is 46 degrees, and it is slightly cooler in other northern parts of the state.
Low cloud cover and visibility under half a mile make for a gloomy morning commute.
The National Weather Service forecasts fog and clouds will gradually clear as the morning progresses.
However, a 30% chance of showers lingers for the afternoon, with patchy fog returning after 1 p.m. Temperatures will reach a high near 50 degrees.
As the evening approaches, rain is expected to move in after midnight, accompanied by patchy fog between 7 p.m. and midnight. Temperatures will rise overnight, reaching around 56 degrees by 5 a.m.
New Jerseyans are advised to pack an umbrella if heading out and to stay cautious during periods of reduced visibility and potential flooding risks in low-lying areas.
