Authorities are searching for a suspect involved in a bold armed carjacking near Newark International Airport on Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. in the single-digit block of International Way.
According to initial reports, a white or Hispanic male wearing a ski mask and gray sweatpants brandished a weapon and demanded the victim's vehicle.
The suspect fled the scene in a red Ford pickup truck with New Jersey license plate "X39-UBL," heading northbound on Route 1 and 9.
Shortly afterward, police in Edison reported that the same suspect, using the stolen vehicle, attempted an armed robbery at Menlo Park Mall.
No physical injuries were reported in either incident.
The investigation remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
