The Township of Irvington brought the magic of the season to life on Thursday, December 5, with its annual Holiday Spectacular, which transformed the town into a winter wonderland.Under the leadership of The Honorable Mayor Tony Vauss, the celebration embraced the theme of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” enchanting attendees of all ages in front of Town Hall.
More than 800 children left the event with smiles and gifts in hand, as the township ensured that no family went untouched by the joy of the season.
Against the backdrop of dazzling lights and festive decorations, the holiday spirit was further amplified by the harmonious voices of the Union Avenue School Choir and the Florence Avenue School Choir, whose performances filled the crisp winter air with cheer.
Mayor Vauss, known for his deep dedication to the Irvington community, introduced a stunning light show that drew gasps of wonder from the crowd. He invited everyone to visit One Civic Square in Irvington after 5 PM daily to experience the magic for themselves.
“The Holiday Spectacular is about more than just lights and gifts,” said Mayor Vauss. “It’s about bringing our community together, celebrating the joy of giving, and sharing the spirit of the holidays.”
The event began with a beloved “Photos with Santa” session, where Mayor Vauss personally greeted families, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
As the frigidly cold evening fell, the Holiday Spectacular came alive, showcasing the efforts of the Irvington Police Department, Fire Department, Public Works, and other dedicated town staff who worked tirelessly to make the celebration unforgettable.
Adding to the heartwarming spirit of the season, Mayor Vauss distributed toys to police officers, firefighters, and town employees, encouraging them to bring holiday joy to their own families and beyond.
This gesture embodied the season's true meaning: giving, community, and togetherness.
