Jersey City Shooting Victim Enters NYC Hospital

Authorities in Jersey City are investigating a shooting incident after a man claimed he was shot in the city early Sunday morning.NinosAccording to initial reports, officers patrolling the area of Wade Street and Martin Luther King Drive requested backup upon hearing several rounds of gunfire around 4 a.m.

Responding units canvassed the scene and discovered multiple shell casings but found no victims during their search of the community.

While detectives were processing the scene, headquarters received a notification from the New York City Police Department.

A male victim had entered a New York City emergency room suffering from gunshot wounds and claimed he was shot at a location in Jersey City.

Investigators believe the individual was actually struck at the Wade Street crime scene.

Jersey City police officers are en route to New York to continue the investigation. The victim's injuries are not considered life-threatening at this time.

The motive for the shooting remains under active investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Jersey City Police Department. Authorities are working to identify any suspects involved.
