Middlesex County officials announced that on Thursday, November 21, the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office celebrated the graduation of 40 participants from the fall 2024 Sheriff’s Civilian Academy.
The ceremony, hosted by Sheriff Mildred S. Scott at the Middlesex County Police Training Center, marked the culmination of the comprehensive eight-week program, County officials stated.
According to Middlesex County officials, the Sheriff’s Civilian Academy provides Middlesex County residents with a unique opportunity to gain insight into the Sheriff’s Office's multifaceted responsibilities.
Participants receive hands-on education in areas such as defensive tactics, K-9 operations, transportation, fingerprinting, DARE initiatives, court procedures, civil processes, foreclosures, and more, County authorities say.
