A crime scene unit was dispatched to KIPP Lab High School on Thursday following a report of a potential weapons threat inside the educational facility.
The situation arose after school administrators and police launched an investigation into a student’s alleged threat against another student.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, police responded to the charter school at approximately 12:26 p.m. after receiving reports that one student had threatened another with a weapon.Officers arrived promptly and initiated their investigation, confirming to RLS Media that no injuries were reported and no weapon was recovered.
Authorities are actively working to determine the credibility of the threat and the events surrounding the incident.
The matter remains under review by law enforcement and school administrators.
