Atlantic City Man Pleads Guilty to Violent Sexual Assault of Woman at Local Bus Terminal

Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Wednesday, November 13, Eric Williams, 56, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault.AdThe recommended sentence is 12 years in New Jersey State Prison, where he must serve 85% of that sentence before being eligible for parole, Ataltinc County officials stated. Upon release, Williams must also register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and will be subject to parole supervision for life.

According to Atlantic County officials, on May 19, 2022, Williams committed a sexual assault of an adult female in the lobby of the bus terminal in Atlantic City.

The defendant rectally penetrated the victim with both his fingers and male member, Atlantic City Police said. 

NJ Transit police said the victim was asleep at the time of the assault; however, the offense was captured on the terminal’s surveillance camera, which ultimately led to Williams’ arrest.

Sentencing is tentatively scheduled in front of the Honorable Pamela D’Arcy, J.S.C., on March 19, 2025, Atlantic County authorities stated.AdThe investigation was a collaborative effort involving the New Jersey Transit Police Department, the Atlantic City Police Department, and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
