Brisk Fall Weekend Start with Red Flag Warning for Fire Risk in North Jersey

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Good morning, New Jersey!

After an unseasonably warm start to November, we’re kicking off this Saturday with temperatures at a seasonable 45 degrees across North Jersey, bringing a more autumn-like feel to the air.

It’s a clear, dry morning, and we’ll stay precipitation-free until tomorrow when we’re expecting light rain—though, unfortunately, it won’t be enough to significantly ease our ongoing dry spell that has lingered for over a month.

NINO According to the National Weather Service, a Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. this evening due to dry conditions and gusty winds.

This means there’s a high fire risk in parts of northeastern New Jersey, including Passaic, Bergen, Essex, and Union counties.

Please avoid outdoor burning and be mindful of anything that might cause sparks in these conditions.

Today’s forecast:

  • Today: Sunny, high near 56°F, with north winds at 9-11 mph and gusts up to 21 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low of around 35°F.

Enjoy this crisp autumn Saturday, NJ, and remember to stay safe in these dry conditions!
