NJ Man Sentenced to Three Years in Prison for Aggravated Assault in 2021 Stabbing

A Ventnor man has been sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison following a 2021 stabbing incident, according to a statement released by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.AdWilliam Clanton, 24, was convicted of third-degree aggravated assault for his role in a violent altercation that left the victim with multiple stab wounds.

The incident occurred on January 1, 2021, when Absecon Police responded to a call at Field of Dreams Park regarding a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from serious injuries, including stab wounds to the head, throat, arm, and abdomen.

Officers provided immediate medical aid, and the victim was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he survived his injuries.

Clanton, located at the scene with two knives, admitted to stabbing the victim during the altercation.AdThe Absecon Police Department investigated with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Major Crimes Unit.
