Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Thursday, October 31, Francisco Corriano, 34, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to charges in five separate cases involving criminal activity throughout Atlantic County.
The recommended sentence is a concurrent five-year term in New Jersey State Prison, County officials say. According to Atlantic County officials, on dates ranging from November 2023 until September 2024, Mr. Corriano had been arrested for a variety of shoplifting, narcotics, and burglary offenses.
County authorities stated that on November 6, 2023, Corriano was arrested for shoplifting in Egg Harbor Township, and on this date, officers from the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to Boscov’s for a reported shoplifting.
Upon arrival, law enforcement apprehended the subject, who was later identified as Corriano, and fled from the scene when arrested, Atlantic City Police said, and on December 12, 2023, Corriano was arrested in Atlantic City for the distribution of cocaine.
County officials said that at approximately 10:40 a.m., officers from the Atlantic City Police Department observed a drug transaction taking place in the area of South Texas Avenue.
Corriano was observed distributing cocaine to another individual.
As law enforcement approached, Corriano tried to flee but was quickly apprehended, officials stated. On January 11, 2024, Corriano was arrested in Atlantic City for the distribution of heroin.
At approximately 7:35 p.m., officers from the Atlantic City Police Department again observed a drug transaction taking place in the area of South Texas Avenue, Atlantic City Police said
Corriano was observed distributing heroin to another individual, officials say. Corriano was subsequently placed into custody without incident.
According to Atlantic City authorities, on May 25, 2024, Corriano was arrested for burglary in Atlantic City. The day prior, at approximately 6:20 p.m., a suspect broke into Breathe Salt Spa, a business at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino, stealing property belonging to that business and damaging additional items inside.
After an investigation by the Atlantic City Police Department, the suspect was identified as Corriano, who was subsequently arrested.
On September 24, 2024, Corriano was arrested for burglary in Atlantic City, County officials say. Officers were dispatched to the FireWater Saloon at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
Officers spoke to an employee, who indicated that an individual had entered their bar unlawfully, taken numerous bottles of alcohol, and damaged property belonging to the business. In total, the business suffered over $1,000.00 in losses, County officials said. After an investigation by the Atlantic City Police Department, the suspect was identified as Corriano, who was subsequently arrested. Mr. Corriano pleaded guilty to each of these offenses, accoridng to Atlantic City Police.
Sentencing will be before the Honorable Dorothy Incarvito-Garrabrant, J.S.C., on January 10, 2024., authorities stated. Corriano will remain detained pending sentencing.
