Cold, Clear Skies Set the Stage for Marathon Sunday in North Jersey

Newark

It's a chilly start to the first Sunday of November as North Jersey residents wake up to brisk temperatures under clear skies.NinosThis morning marks the extra hour of sleep gained as clocks fell back, and with perfect timing for my Jersey friends and family heading across the river for the 53rd NYC Marathon.

The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts a bright, sunny day, ideal for marathon runners tackling the 26-mile course, though they'll face a crisp chill throughout the race.

If you're heading to early worship or other Sunday morning activities, be sure to bundle up with a jacket and scarf—it's cold enough that you'll likely see your breath.

The day will bring some mild warming, but the chill will linger, making it a day for cozy layers. According to the NWS:

  • Today: Sunny, with a high near 62°F. Northwest winds at 6 to 10 mph.
  • Tonight: Clear skies with a low of around 38°F.

Enjoy this beautiful, brisk Marathon Sunday, NJ!
