NJ State Police closed a portion of Interstate 287 in Middlesex County early Tuesday morning after a truck crash resulted in a fire that spread to nearby brush, injuring the driver.The incident occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. in the northbound lanes near New Durham.
Troopers arriving at the scene found the truck had smashed through a sound barrier and ignited in flames, trapping the driver inside.
Emergency responders worked to extinguish the blaze, and two lanes of the highway were shut down for the investigation.
The driver's condition has not been reported, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
