The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating an assault involving a man posing as a dentist in Fairfield.
Officials said on October 14, officers from the Fairfield Police Department responded to a report of an assault at 363 Route 46.
Upon arrival, they spoke with a woman who claimed she had been assaulted by Jonathan Colombo, 31, of Orange.
According to the victim, she had seen Colombo's social media profiles, where he advertised discounted dental veneers under the Instagram handles “newyoudental” and “newyousmiles.”
After discussing the procedure and agreeing on a price, she scheduled an appointment at Colombo’s office for October 14, 2024.
Following the dental procedure, the woman alleges that she was subjected to explicit contact.
Colombo was arrested the next day, October 15, 2024, by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office (ECPO) and Fairfield Police for practicing dentistry without a license.
The investigation remains ongoing.
