Further investigation led law enforcement to Inspira Hospital in Bridgeton and later to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where a suspect was detained for questioning after being treated for a gunshot wound, according to the Bridgeton Police Department.

In a statement, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin expressed his condolences:

"We mourn the tragic loss of Sgt. Monica Mosley, a detective with the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.

Each of us should feel safe in our homes, and when that safety is broken, it impacts us all. Sgt. Mosley was a dedicated public servant, known for her commitment to justice and her devotion to her community. We will always be grateful for her service."

The investigation into the home invasion is ongoing, and authorities continue to work diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the crime.
