Newark and parts of North Jersey are waking up to chilly temperatures this morning, with Newark feeling a brisk 46 degrees and some areas just above freezing.Places like Sparta and parts of Warren Counties are seeing even colder conditions, with Somerville and Morristown experiencing a frost advisory as temperatures dip to 37 degrees.
This marks the coldest air of the season so far, and residents will need to bundle up as fall settles in.
According to the National Weather Service, while a weekend warmup is expected, the next few days will bring seasonable temperatures, meaning heavy coats will be necessary for the morning commute.
Today is forecasted to be mostly sunny, with a high near 58 degrees and a west wind of 7 to 11 mph.Tonight, expect mostly clear skies and a low of around 41 degrees.
