Pedestrian Critically Injured in Bayonne Hit-and-Run; Investigation Underway

Authorities in Hudson County announced that the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Bayonne Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run that critically injured a pedestrian on Sunday, October 13.AfHudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said at approximately 12:20 a.m., the Bayonne Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Route 440 and 22nd Street.

Responding officers located a male victim, later identified as a 25-year-old Bayonne resident, with life-threatening injuries, stated Hudson County officials.

Bayonne Police say the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.

 

The male was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, according to Hudson County authorities. AdProsecutor Suarez said the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit, with assistance from the Bayonne Police Department, is actively investigating this matter.
