Several would-be victims turned the tables on an armed suspect during an attempted robbery early Friday morning in Paterson.
The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of Oak Street and Pennington Street.
According to preliminary information, the armed suspect approached several individuals, attempting to rob them.
In a dramatic turn, the victims fought back, managing to wrestle the weapon from the assailant. During the struggle, they reportedly beat, kicked, and punched the suspect, causing him to sustain injuries.
The suspect managed to escape the scene in a dark-colored sedan.
Police are now not only searching for the suspect but also for the victims, who left the scene with the weapon they had taken from the assailant.
The extent of the suspect’s injuries has not been confirmed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Paterson Police.
