Fairfield Police, alongside the Essex County Sheriff's Department and Wayne Police, are currently investigating a violent shooting that occurred earlier today at the Ramada hotel on Two Bridges Road.
Here’s what we’ve been able to gather so far: Around 12:28 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired at the hotel, located at 38 Two Bridges Road.
When police arrived, they found a person with severe gunshot wounds.
Little Falls Police were brought in to secure the surrounding area, especially Route 46, which was locked down to assist the investigation.
The victim was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, with injuries only described as ‘severe.’

“I can confirm that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force is responding to an apparent shooting incident on Two Bridges Road in Fairfield, NJ.
I can confirm one DOA at this time. It is very early in the process and no further information is currently available”.
Detectives remain on the scene, working to piece together what led to the shooting.
No arrests have been made at this time, and the situation is still developing.
