New Jersey State Police are investigating a crash that left a motorcyclist seriously injured on I-78 in Union County Tuesday night.
The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway near mile marker 48 in Springfield.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered an unresponsive motorcyclist who had been ejected from the bike.
EMS was immediately notified, and the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the crash has not yet been released, and the incident led to traffic delays on the highway as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
