A pedestrian sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle on a busy roadway in Newark Monday evening.
The incident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Bridge Street and McCarter Highway.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the pedestrian lying in the roadway. The victim was rushed to University Hospital and is reportedly in critical condition.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
