According to a statement released by Morris County officials, the Morris County Correctional Facility (MCCF) has achieved a perfect 100% compliance rating following an inspection by the New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) in August 2024.
The annual inspection evaluates both the physical condition of the facility and the implementation of policies to ensure they meet the high standards set by the state.
The inspection was led by Christel Jackson-Lee of the NJDOC, who commended the MCCF staff for their professionalism, knowledge, and courtesy during the evaluation.
She also praised the facility for its cleanliness and overall management, noting the high standards upheld throughout her tour.
Sheriff James M. Gannon expressed his pride in the facility’s performance, emphasizing that the perfect compliance score reflects the dedication and hard work of the staff.
"A 100% compliance rating is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all facility staff members. I would like to thank each of them for their continued efforts in making the MCCF one of the best in the country," Gannon said. "Their commitment to excellence is evident, even while working one of the toughest jobs in Morris County."
The Morris County Correctional Facility has consistently maintained strong operational standards, and the recent inspection further highlights its standing as a model correctional facility.
The average daily population at the MCCF in 2024 is 325 inmates, with the facility processing 1,752 individual admissions and 1,656 discharges between January and August of this year.
With this achievement, MCCF continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing a safe and well-managed environment for both staff and inmates, maintaining its reputation as one of the top correctional facilities in New Jersey.
