The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office was notified of a fatal pedestrian strike that occurred early Saturday morning on Route 17 in Paramus.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the southbound lanes near Linwood Avenue around 3 a.m. after receiving reports of a person struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, authorities found an unidentified individual suffering from severe injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramus Police secured the area for an active investigation.
No additional injuries were reported, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
