Newark police are actively searching for suspects involved in a double shooting that took place early Friday morning near a public housing complex in the Central Ward.
Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé reported that around 1:10 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 100 block of Avon Avenue (Pilgrim Village).
Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to University Hospital and are currently in stable condition, according to authorities.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
No arrests have been made at this time as the investigation continues.
